Golf Swing Rhythm: One Great Tip To Improve Yours!

You know when you swing with rhythm and you know when your golf swing is jerky and unrythmic. Some golfers like Ernie Els and Fred Couples…

…seem to ooze rhythm when they swing the golf club where other golfers have rhythm but it’s more mechanical, e.g. Nick Faldo or Luke Donald…

So rhythm in the golf swing is a personal thing but there is something in us that governs our rhythm, and that is our breathing.

We all have a rhythm we breathe to and we can use that breathing rhythm to improve our golf swing rhythm.

If you think about the golf swing it basically has a two-beat rhythm to it. A back beat and a through beat. So to help you get a rhythmic, powerful golf swing here’s a simple exercise you can do.

Simply swing back and breathe in as you do so and then when you change directions in your golf swing breathe out so when you finish your swing you’ve exhaled all the way out. It’s a simple drill but one that can give you a natural rhythm to your golf swing and get you out of thinking about positions as you’re swinging. It’s a good drill to do when you’re hitting balls on the driving range too so do it the next time you’re doing that.

Great tip. Use it all the time in tennis. Don’t know why I haven’t been doing it in golf. Will try it today.
